Saudi Gazette runs a story about yet another Saudi woman driving. This time, she’s not apparently in trouble with the police as she did it to rescue her family from a fire. Over the years, the Saudi media has pointed time and again to circumstances in which a woman’s driving has had direct and beneficial effects on the lives of others. The exceptions make for good stories, but they also serve to indicate that women are not quite the fools that many Saudi men assume them to be.

I am so freaking proud of her!
A round of applause people!
Must have been a terrifying situation though. I’m glad they all got out safely

I still dream of a day when Saudi women driving would be something totally normal and acceptable because frankly I’m sick of such news making the headlines every other day.
I’m glad that the young girl broke the oppressive law and I proudly applaud her courage and quick reaction to save her family.
BtW, hope you’re feeling better from the headache!
